Uche Fuels Straightforward Crystal Palace Triumph at Irish Side Shelbourne.
Even though entering their maiden European campaign, Crystal Palace are learning at a rapid pace. Without key players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a comfortable win that all but secures them a spot in the Conference League qualifying rounds.
A further three points in their next match against Finland's KuPS should be enough to seal direct entry to the knockout stages, particularly following a prior stumble against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Seize the Opportunity
This occasion provided a platform for some of Palace's lesser-used talent to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second start after arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a clinical goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a second, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.
The Shelbourne side that had finished their domestic season proved no match against a largely rotated Palace outfit. The visitors were already depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with knee injuries.

The home side were hanging on desperately. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to avoid a booking for a couple of robust tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the crossbar with a powerful header from a corner.

The contest was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past a series of weak challenges before coolly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw several players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring with his first touch, but saw his shot blocked.
Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then missed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.
A solitary worry for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, capping an otherwise perfect night for the traveling side.
