Trump Welcomes Families of Attacked Military Soldiers to White House

Former President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the loved ones of a Guard member fatally shot last week to visit the executive mansion.

He mentioned that he contacted her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

Details on the Heartbreaking Event

US army specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a attack on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her colleague, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in serious condition.

Memorials across the state have occurred in their honor.

Presidential Offer

The commander-in-chief explained he’s discussed a meeting at the presidential residence for the families of both individuals of the West Virginia Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, visit the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” Trump informed the press. “And similarly with him, recover or not.”

Public Response

Attendees came together over the past few days at a local school in the state to honor Beckstrom.

Both she and Wolfe had been fulfilling duties with the military unit as part of Trump’s government program to aid public safety in DC.

Paying Tribute to the Soldier

“Sarah was the kind of student that teachers desired. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that inspired those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the leader of Beckstrom’s alma mater, informed the Associated Press. “She was sweet, caring and always willing to assist people.”

Memorial arrangements for Sarah are still being arranged.

Judicial Actions and Government Adjustments

Authorities have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with one count of first-degree murder and charges of assault with intent to kill while armed.

The tragedy caused the Trump administration to pause asylum applications and temporarily stop issuing entry permits to holders of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of the Airman

The airman, a native of Martinsburg, enlisted in 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, according to the Associated Press.

He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia leader Patrick Morrisey stated on television.

The state’s top lawyer Bondi informed a news show that she also intended to meet with Wolfe’s family.

Memory of Beckstrom

Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County high school in June 2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a military police officer with excellence, as stated by the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she definitely had fortitude,” Morrisey told the gathering at the memorial. “Though her life ended too soon, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
