English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the this year's Young Athlete of the Year award.

The three finalists have been recognised for their exceptional achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang helped the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a record-breaking innings.

Littler won the award in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The finalists were unveiled on a widely-listened-to radio show.

The champion will be unveiled on the prestigious sports ceremony show on Thursday, 18 December.

The show will be televised from 19:00 GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to European Championship victory.

She entered the fray to score vital last-gasp goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.

Her incredible contributions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.

Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the best young player in Europe.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"Being on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler's 2025 began in sensational style as - at just 17 years old - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.

He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

He didn't stop there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, breaking the previous record.

"Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a highlight for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and burst into the spotlight with an remarkable and historic innings in August.

Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.
