The Streaming Giant Selects Perfect Performer for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Third Season
Baroque Works is poised to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the true confrontation isn’t set to occur until the next season, and a beloved, audience-beloved member has recently been selected.
The streaming service revealed Tuesday that the talented performer will appear in the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will portray Bon Clay. The role possesses the power to change into an identical duplicate of any individual they’ve touched with their main hand. The performer, who is gender non-conforming and prefers they/them pronouns, will depict a version of that figure re-envisioned as non-binary identifying, instead of as a drag performer, in the live-action series, unlike the source material and anime.
This performer will work alongside several other recently announced actors who will portray Baroque Works to the screen, featuring head Mr. 0, brought to life by the well-known actor, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and a familiar face, who is also part of the lineup as the monarch of the fictional land.
Even though the role is a key figure of Baroque Works, the persona won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. Given the second season likely to portray the Little Garden arc, this marks a major departure in the schedule of the character’s debut, one that could suggest further changes to the plot development.
Escola’s blend of sharp comedic timing and profound feeling makes them a perfect fit for the role. Along with their latest vocal work in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and numerous honors for writing and starring in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, emphasizing the range they’ll add to one of One Piece’s widely praised characters.
The platform’s adapted One Piece program is due to premiere for its second season on March 10, 2026.
